Skies and Art in Meditation

I have been photographing beautiful winter sunsets in southern California. A large expanse of sunset colors before me and sometimes surrounding me. I stand on my driveway in quiet meditation as I view the wonder.

Recently, I viewed two art exhibitions that helped me enter into a quiet place of subtle colors, deep textures, and simple shapes. One was Beanie Kaman, “syncopation,” at LA Art Core. I didn’t know the artist, but was glad to meet her and experience her voice as an artist.

The other was Hung Viet Nguyen, “Sacred Landscape,” at LAUNCH LA. I had seen images of Hung’s amazing paintings online before I met him. I was determined to see his work in person and had the pleasure of doing so. Both artists are inspired by nature as am I.

It’s important to take the time to explore what inspires one to create. Sometimes the well needs to be refilled and refreshed.
